I have caught the flu from this lady at work who had it =( This is absolutely the worst possible time for me to be ill, March 31st is the final deadline for all my major uni assignments and I’ve yet to start 75% of them! Crap, crap, crap…

Meet my new guilty pleasure, Lipstick Jungle! You’ll love this show if you’re partial to the odd guilty pleasure (i.e. Gossip Girl). Okay, it’s not the most original show in the world, but it’s addictive and far superior to Cashmere Mafia, which I watched first and thought was better until I kicked into a few episodes of this show!
I love Kim Raver after seeing her in 24, so that’s one of the reasons I decided to watch this. True, Brooke Shields has a very unfortunate face and I couldn’t warm to her right away - but five episodes later, I really like all these characters. Plus there’s some uber-yum man candy by the name of Kirby Atwood. You should watch it, download it, whatever!
I’m totally in love with this song right now, I heard it a week or so ago on One Tree Hill and then heard it again in last week’s episode of Lipstick Jungle. It’s probably really old or something, but I love it nonetheless:
Erm, I totally just realised that I hadn’t taken off the setting that commenters had to be approved by me or have a previous comment here. I was feeling lonely because I thought I had like 2 comments lol, anyway hi everyone whose comments I didn’t see until just now and thanks for commenting… I feel loved! I shall return the favour soon.
Life is crazy and hectic (as usual!), we didn’t have much of a Valentine’s Day because I was exhausted last night, after coming home from work. I’ve gotten my job back at Topshop in West End, despite the fact I’ve worked there before they’re making me do induction again so that’s where I was yesterday and today, and will be on Sunday! Then I officially start work on Tuesday; my hours are Tuesdays 4-8pm (I did not agree to work till 8 so I’ll have to try and change that), Fridays 12-6pm and Sundays 12-4pm. It’s only part time, but the extra £400 a month will definitely come in handy!
I now have to juggle that with university, the boys and websites and stuff! I’m working on Milo Ventimiglia Web.com which I adopted from Gertie and will be co-running with Hayley. We’ve already put loads of work (and money) into it, we’ve really thrown ourselves into it and it’s been a fun process making the site because I know we’ll have oodles of content, the amount of magazines/DVDs etc. we’ve bought.
Anyway, I need some tea, buh-bye!
I’ve moved! I decided to cash in the old domain (because really, I’d tired of it) and upgrade to something shiny and new! I love my new domain name, hope you do too! The word “elysium” just stuck in my brain while reading “Twelfth Night” for uni and I thought it would be a great domain name. Hopefully, I’ll be sticking with this domain name for a good, long while! If you’ve got me linked, update your links, pretty please
I hope to update this place more than I did with the old site, well I’ll try anyway, no guarantees. I wanted to make this site more personal and more me, rather than just a collective. I’ve added an area for reviews; as you probably know, I’m studying Journalism and so I decided to create a little area for reviews on mainly TV shows but also music and movies. If you have a spare moment if you’re bored, you should check it out. Well actually, I only have one review up at the moment - which is on the season premiere of Lost. It aired last night in America, I downloaded today and it airs here in the UK on Sunday.
In website news, I really must catch up with stuff. I’ve become uber lazy and need to finish revamping and finish some sites altogether. But the thing is I’m totally swamped with university work at the moment, I did a really rough draft (in a couple of hours) of a major assignment last night - thankfully we have two more drafts to go! And all next week I have exams, God spare me! Back at home, Noah’s started teething, so he’s not the most joyous baby to be around at the moment! He’s been pretty cranky all day until daddy came home, he really is a little daddy’s boy hmph! Anyway before I completely fall asleep on the keyboard, I’m going to call it a night!
I haven’t written anything here for so long, just goes to show how much I suck at this whole blog thing! Hi everyone! I honestly haven’t done much with any of my fansites of late, I feel so disassociated with them - I need to get back into the swing of things. Uni has been absolutely crazy lately, with deadline after deadline as we get to the end of the semester! I have two days to go, then I’m free! Well, I expect I’ll have lots of work to do over the holidays but I’ll leave it all to the last minute as usual. I need to finish some sites, revamp some sites and finish lots of design orders over the holiday.
Yay, Jessica Alba’s pregnant! I’ve been a huge fan and followed her career since Dark Angel, so I’m really happy for her and I’m sure she’ll be the best mum ever and still flawless and fashionable at the same time! I’m a little disappointed it’s not Jensen Ackles’ baby
Okay, some Dark Angel obsessiveness for you there…
PS: Can anyone recommend me any good movies to rent?
Okay, I am officially bad, bad, bad. I bought a whole bunch of DVDs from Play.com! They have a “everything for £5″ sale! I just had to have Pursuit of Happyness and Children of Men; but I bought loads more like Selena, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and a few others!
Hello! As you can see, I totally spiffified this place up! I installed WordPress, snagged a theme coz I was too lazy to make a layout and hurrah… here it is! I’m feeling uber tired right now, so I was too lazy to make a proper collective with picture goodness, but it’ll do for now.
Now, I can’t really guarantee I’ll blog here well, ever but I will try! I usually tend to leave random blogs for my LJ. Erm, haven’t got too much to say right now actually except I am exhausted and I have another crap day at uni today! Noah needs changing too, so I better dash off.
Welcome to Sweet-Elysium.com, the new online home of me, Melanie! The idea of this space is many; part blog, part collective, part portfolio... it's really hard to pinpoint what the site really is! Anyway, I hope you enjoy checking out the site and be sure to leave a lovely comment!
I am 24 years old, living in good old East London with my lovely boyfriend and our beautiful little boy, Noah! I'm a part time student, studying Journalism, Film and Media. My passions include writing, fansites, music, movies, shopping, fashion and my biggest (and probably geekiest) passion -- television shows! I love television and hope to one day become a critic or something!
